Photo Instructions

Whether I am drawing a dog, cat, horse or anything else,to draw a quality portrait I will need a quality photo from you.

(Please follow these instructions no matter what the subject is.)

Remember, I don't know what your pet looks like. So the more detail the better.

A digital camera works best. Try to take the pet's photo in sunlight if possible. A flash, indoors will distort the detail in the eyes.

Each dog has their own characteristics that make them special.

A clear close up of your dog's upper body. No snap shots please. There just isn't enough detail.

Try to take the dog's photo with a contrasting background so I can really see his outline.

Get down to your dog's eye level so you get a straight on view.(or a side view if you like).

If you have to have someone hold your dog for the photo, do so.

What it comes down to is, the better the photo, the better your custom dog portrait will be.

I can't draw a quality portrait if I can't make out the details in the photo.
